The male scholars appreciated walking the campus of Morehouse while the female scholars walked the campus of Spelman College. At each campus the scholars were greeted by students who were alumni of the tour. Both tour presentations did an excellent job of inspiring the students to consider "Spelhouse" (Morehouse & Spelman Colleges) for higher education.
After the Spelhouse tour, the scholars met at Clark Atlanta University (CAU) for a combined group tour. Five alumni of the NYCOBCT are currently enrolled at CAU. They were apart of the CAU presentation. We are awaiting decisions on several applications submitted to CAU.
The tour visits was followed by a splendid dinner sponsored by Sam Kok and Lauretta Pierce at Green Ginger, an Asian fusion restaurant. in Decatur Ga. Mr Kok annually opens his restaurant to NYCOBCT in support of our aspiring scholars. In appreciation of Sam & Lauretta's generosity, NYCOBCT presented plaques as tokens of appreciation.
The NYCOBCT arrived safely to Orangeburg, SC. The students are resting and eagerly await their tours to Claflin and South Carolina State Universities.
